Mr. Mobley’s litigation and dispute resolution experience includes a multi-million dollar claim on a project for a state university infrastructure improvement, litigation against a state department of transportation on two large interstate highway projects, work for a client involving a dispute on a federal courthouse construction project, and various matters for an international provider of building automation products and services. He has also drafted contracts for clients on various projects, including agreements to construct new federal government research facilities, international resort developments, and commercial and retail facilities. He advises clients on a routine basis regarding matters that arise during the bidding and negotiation phases of construction projects, and provides general counsel to clients on disputes that occur during these projects.
Prior to law school, Mr. Mobley worked for nearly eight years in the construction field and has first-hand estimating and project management experience on various types of underground utility and infrastructure projects. During that time, he held various estimating and project management roles for an engineering and site development contractor, and later worked as the Assistant Division Manager for the underground utilities division of a large engineering and highway construction contractor.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Mobley clerked for the United States Attorneys’ Office for the Northern District of Alabama, and was later selected for the United States Department of Justice’s Honors Program. He was assigned to the Antitrust Division’s Atlanta Field Office, where he worked on white collar criminal matters throughout the Southeast.
Mr. Mobley received a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University, and earned his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from The University of Alabama. While at The University of Alabama, he served as the Managing Editor of the Alabama Law Review. Mr. Mobley co-authored the Southeastern Chapter of the annual Construction Law Update in 2005, 2006, and 2007, and has authored an article on automobile products liability issues related to seat belt usage.
Mr. Mobley is a member of the Georgia and Florida Bar Associations. Since moving to Atlanta, he has been very active in local organizations, including the High Museum of Art. For the last several years he has served on the Planning Committee, and as the co-chair for the High Museum’s Annual Wine Auction.
