His areas of expertise include strip shopping centers, shopping center leases, franchise- related leases, zoning matters, hotels and extended stay motels. He also has special expertise in representing various lenders in loan workouts and foreclosures.
Mr. Shovers has represented the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta in their real estate transactions for the past 25 years. He has extensive experience in representing the Archdiocese and numerous parishes relating to the acquisition, sale and lease of real estate for churches, rectories and religious schools.
Mr. Shovers served on the Board of Directors of the University of Wisconsin National Alumni Association and is past President of the University of Wisconsin Atlanta Alumni Club.
A native of Racine, Wisconsin, Mr. Shovers graduated from The University of Wisconsin in 1969 with a B.A. degree in political science. He received his J.D. degree from Emory University Law School in 1972 and joined the Firm that year. Mr. Shovers is admitted to practice in the State of Georgia.
