Alison A. Drane
Alison A. Drane is an Associate in the Real Estate Practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP and is also a LEED Accredited Professional.
As a member of the Real Estate Practice, Ms. Drane represents lenders and developers
in commercial real estate lending transactions and general real estate sale, purchase,
property management and leasing transactions. Ms. Drane also represents
institutional lenders in the negotiation of workouts involving commercial real estate
loans.
Ms. Drane is also currently a member of the Urban Land Institute, NAIOP
Commercial Real Estate Development Association, Association of Young Real Estate
Professionals, and Generation Green of the Georgia Conservancy.
Ms. Drane received her B.A. degree, summa cum laude, with highest honors, in Risk
Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia in 2005. She earned her
J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2008. During
law school, she was an Editorial Board Member and Notes Editor at the* Journal of
Intellectual Property Law*. Ms. Drane also acted as a liaison between the Dean’s office
and the student body and greater community in her role as President of Dean’s
Ambassadors while in law school. Ms. Drane is a member of the State Bar of
Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association.
Ms. Drane is involved in many community service activities. Several of them include
serving on the Board of Directors of the International Women’s House, which
provides services to immigrant and refugee women and children who have survived
domestic violence, serving on the Board of Directors of the Bill Maness Good
Samaritan Scholarship Committee, which provides college scholarships to students
in the Atlanta community who could be characterized as Good Samaritans, and
providing pro bono legal services for various firm clients.
