He is a member of the Real Estate Section. Mr. Clay has extensive experience representing both local and national lending institutions as well as developers in connection with a wide variety of commercial real estate transactions. Ranging from simple purchase and sale transactions to complex tax-free exchanges with multi-tiered financing, the projects he has been involved in include the acquisition, development and permanent financing of office buildings, shopping centers, hotels, industrial developments, warehouse facilities, business parks, condominiums, mixed use projects and residential communities. His commercial lending practice also includes assisting lenders with the negotiation, structuring and implementation of special asset dispositions involving commercial real estate loans, bringing in the expertise of attorneys from the firm’s Commercial, Bankruptcy and Litigation sections as and when necessary.
Mr. Clay’s practice also includes the representation of buyers and sellers in large timberland transactions regionally and nationwide.
Representative Transactions
Mr. Clay attended Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he received a B.A. in History in 1993. He received his J.D. degree from the University of Georgia in 1996.
Mr. Clay is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association.
