SGR Represents Minimill Steel Producer in $300M Acquisition
SGR attorneys represented Gerdau Ameristeel Corporation and it’s U.S. operating subsidiary, Gerdau Ameristeel US Inc., in an asset acquisition of four long steel minimills from Cargill, Incorporated and certain of its subsidiaries. GNA paid $266 million for the acquired assets, assumed approximately $12 million of debt and paid an additional $50 million to cover the adjusted purchase price over the 60 day closing period. Gerdau Ameristeel stock is trade on the NYSE under the symbol “GNA.” The transaction was completed in November 2004.
